Ralf Bos (born January 21, 1961 in Düsseldorf-Bilk ) is a German chef , restaurant specialist and owner of the delicatessen delivery company Bos Food.

Life

After graduating from secondary school in 1977, Bos completed an apprenticeship as a chef and then retrained as a restaurant specialist. He then worked as a bartender , head waiter, sommelier and restaurant manager in restaurants and hotels from Sylt to Davos . In 1984 Ralph Siegel hired him as tour manager for the Wind group . He later founded the electronics import company Bos TTV. The company had 28 employees and had an annual turnover of 14.5 million DM when he sold it in 1989.

In 1990, Bos founded Bos Food GmbH together with Ralf Borkowsky in Düsseldorf. In 2000 he moved the company to nearby Meerbusch . The company employs around 150 people and ships delicacies within Germany, Austria and Switzerland . Bos Food generated an annual turnover of 24 million euros in 2014.

Bos published in Germany on molecular cuisine and runs a molecular cooking school for professionals. He is also an editorial assistant at the gourmet magazine Port Culinaire and works as a permanent editor for three other specialist magazines in Germany and Austria.

Bos has been married since 1988 and has three daughters.

Bos is the initiator of the top chefs campaign for UNICEF and top chefs for Africa , who support Menschen für Menschen and Stiftunglife . Bos is also the ambassador of the Children's Hospice Foundation for Central Germany in Nordhausen .

  • 2012: Bos is voted "Grand Seigneur" by Port Culinaire magazine
