Ralf Dieter Speth (born September 9, 1955 in Roth ) is a German industrial manager . He is the CEO of Jaguar Land Rover .

education

Speth completed a degree in industrial engineering at the Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences . He later received his PhD from Warwick University , UK , and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration .

Career

After completing his studies, Speth worked as a management consultant for several years before joining BMW in 1980. Most recently he held the position of Vice President of Land Rover there . At that time, the company was still part of the BMW Group. With the sale of the Land Rover brand to Ford in 2000, he took on new responsibilities at Ford Motor Company and was responsible for production , quality assurance and product planning for the Premier Automotive Group (PAG) . In 2002, Speth joined the international industrial gas and plant engineering company Linde as Vice President Operations . As Head of Global Operations, he was responsible for global activities and reported to CEO Wolfgang Reitzle , who had previously been his contact person at Ford as CEO of PAG. Since 2010 he has been Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover and also a member of the Board of Directors of Tata Motors .
