Randmod Sörensen , usually Randmond Sörensen or more rarely Randmod Sørensen (born February 12, 1910 in Dokka , Nordre Land , Norway ; † January 21, 1985 in Munich , Germany ) was a Norwegian ski racer , ski jumper and football player .

Career

Winter sports

Sörensen trained at the Kitzbühel Ski Club , where he received the silver medal in 1933. At the German Ski Championships in 1935 , he won the title in the Alpine Combined . His victory in the slalom race also helped him to achieve this success. At the Alpine World Ski Championships in Innsbruck in 1936 Sörensen reached 13th place in the downhill, 22nd place in slalom and 13th place in combination. In the team standings it was enough for third place. As a member of the Norwegian national team, Sörensen was one of the best ski jumpers of his time. Among other things, he won the New Year's competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1937 and took seventh place at the 1937 World Championships .

Soccer

Sörensen played as a striker in the 1934/35 season with the Stuttgarter Kickers in the Gauliga Württemberg . In the 1939/40 season he played for TSV 1860 Munich .

to honor

The Munich Rowing and Sailing Club Bavaria from 1910 holds the Randmod Sörensen Regatta every summer . In addition, a yacht race will be held in Bavaria as the Randmond Sörensen Memorial Prize .
