Randy Foye (born September 24, 1983 in Newark , New Jersey ) is a retired American basketball player who was active for most of his career in the NBA .

Career

college

Foye played for Villanova University during his college days and had an average of about 20 points in the first three games of the 2005 NCAA tournament against the University of North Carolina , but lost with his team in the fourth and final game against the eventual tournament winner with one Distance from a point. His career best at the time was 28 points.

At the 2006 NCAA Tournament, Foye was named Big East Player of the Year by the 16 team coaches in the Big East Conference .

NBA

In the 2006 NBA Draft , Foye was selected in 7th place by the Boston Celtics , but moved shortly after to the Minnesota Timberwolves .

Minnesota Timberwolves

In his debut season with the Timberwolves, Foye played in all 82 regular season games and averaged 10.1 points per game at an average of 22.9 minutes per game. For his accomplishments, Foye was named to the NBA All Rookie First Team this season . In the next two seasons for Minnesota, his performance increased before he was sent to the Washington Wizards on June 23, 2009 together with Mike Miller for Oleksiy Pecherov , Etan Thomas , Darius Songaila and a first-round draft pick .

Washington Wizards

Foye signed a one-year contract with the Wizards in 2009. Since he played about 15 minutes less per game there, his performance fell a little compared to the previous season. In a total of 64 games, he was still able to have 10.1 points and 3.3  assists per game.

Los Angeles Clippers

On July 8, 2010 it was announced that he would be joining the Los Angeles Clippers as a free agent . In the jersey of the Californians, Foye achieved his season high of 28 points on April 2, 2012 and a career high of 8 converted three-point throws against the Dallas Mavericks .

Further stations in the NBA

In the summer of 2012, Foye signed a one-year contract with the Utah Jazz . After a year he left Jazz and was transferred to the Denver Nuggets in a "sign-and-trade" deal . On February 18, 2016, a trade in the Oklahoma City Thunder was announced. Foye was used in 27 games at the Thunder and scored an average of 5.6 points. In the summer of 2016 he left the team and played for the Brooklyn Nets until the end of the season .
