During the Second World War she worked in a military hospital in Marienbad . Abbot General Matthäus Quatember stayed in Waldsassen for her benediction as abbess . The economic situation made it necessary to stop the monastery brewery and the monastery mill. The order's offspring also declined, so that the girls' elementary school could no longer be filled with a religious woman. Raphaela Beck implemented various renovation and modernization measures at the monastery. Reforms were initiated under the sign of the Second Vatican Council . She was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit in the 1960s . She found her final resting place in the monastery cemetery.
