The Rappenalptal (also: Rappenalpental ) is a southwestern side valley of the Birgsau valley near Oberstdorf in the Allgäu . At the entrance to the valley is Einödsbach , the southernmost town in Germany, where the Rappenalptal continues into the Stillachtal .

The center of the valley is the Rappenalpbach, which rises further to the southwest as Haldenwanger Bach from the Haldenwanger Eck .

The mountain peaks framing the valley orographically on the right also mark the state border with Austria ; striking is the beaver head .

The valley can be reached via a road that leads from Oberstdorf over the Birgsau valley to Birgsau . However , it is closed to public traffic from the Fellhornbahn valley station .

Popular hiking destinations are Fiderepasshütte , Mindelheimer Hütte , Enzianhütte and Rappenseehütte .

Over the Schrofenpass , the valley is a popular starting point for mountain bikers for the Transalp ( Heckmair route , Joe route ).
