Raquel Reed grew up in southern California until she moved to New York at the age of 17 . She soon became an alternative scene model with her blue hair and her generally colorful appearance. In New York, Reed worked in various boutiques, from small shops to the Patricia Field boutique, the designer of the Sex and the City store in the Bowery . She supplemented her income by dancing as a gogo dancer . She quickly became known as the "underground party scene kid". Reed began building her portfolio by working with over a hundred photographers. Reed met Jeffree Star , internet celebrity and singer, at a house party in Long Beach and lived with him for three years. Star started her music career when she appeared on his tours as a backing singer. In 2009 she released her first songs. On the mixtape Till Death Do Us Part… One by Death House, the songs Key Largo and The Fast Lane were released . Reed shot a music video for the latter in early 2010. Her single Crazy Baby came out in 2009, followed by I'll Show You with Redman and Do It Dirty with Blam in 2010 .
