National Reconciliation Council
The Council of National Reconciliation ( French : Conseil de Réconciliation Nationale ) was a military junta that ruled Niger from April 11, 1999 to December 1999 .
After the fall of the Fourth Republic (1996–1999) and the violent death of President Ibrahim Baré Maïnassara on April 9, 1999, the junta was supposed to rule the country until the next free elections. It was established by Daouda Malam Wanké , the leader of the coup.
The Council of National Reconciliation had 14 members, all of whom were officers from the ranks of the Nigerien armed forces :

The post of vice-chairman was abolished on July 29, 1999. After the free presidential and parliamentary elections on November 24, 1999 , the Council of National Reconciliation was dissolved.
