The 1050 m high Rauhe Kulm is a mountain in the front Bavarian Forest north of the district town of Deggendorf and is located in the municipality of Bernrieds in the district of Deggendorf , right on the border with the district of Regen .
Neighboring mountains are the Vogelsang ( 1022 m ) to the southeast and the Hirschenstein ( 1092 m ) to the northwest .
The easiest ascent is via Kalteck . The summit can be reached in around 2 hours via the well-developed hiking trail. It is usually passed when climbing the Hirschenstein via Kalteck and is rarely climbed as a separate summit.

In 1995 the Rauher Kulm natural forest reserve was designated here with an area of 76.8 hectares. It is located at an altitude of 830 to 1050 meters on rock and block soils and serves to preserve mixed mountain forests , beech forests and rubble forests . The summit and a large proportion of the slope areas belong to the FFH area Deggendorfer Vorwald .
