Course of the Rautschua

The Rautschua ( Russian Раучуа ) is a river in the Chukchi Autonomous Okrug in northern Eastern Siberia .

The Rautschua rises on the northern flank of the Ilirnei mountain ridge (Илирнейский кряж) in the northwest of the Chukchi Autonomous Okrug. It flows in a northwesterly direction, through intersects the Rautschuagebirge (Раучуанский хребет) runs southwest of the Chaunskaya Bay and finally empties into the East Siberian Sea . The Rautschua has a length of 323 km. It drains an area of ​​15,400 km².

Remains of mammoths have been found near the Rautschua river.
