Raymond van der Schuit (born January 16, 1995 in Rotterdam ) is a Dutch ice hockey player who has been under contract with Hijs Hokij Den Haag in the Belgian-Dutch BeNe League since 2016 .

Career

Clubs

Raymond van der Schuit began his career in the youth division of the Eindhoven Kemphanen , in whose second men's team - the Eindhoven High Techs - he played in the Eerste divisie , the second highest Dutch division, at the age of 15 . Since 2012 he has played regularly in the first team of gamecocks in the honor division . In addition, in 2013/14 he was part of the NIJA talent team , the junior national team that played in the Eerste divisie at the time in order to give the Dutch offspring match experience. In 2015 he dared to jump across the pond and joined the Palm Beach Hawks from the USPHL. After a year he returned to the Netherlands, where he is on the ice for Hijs Hokij Den Haag in the Belgian-Dutch BeNe League .

International

For the Netherlands, van der Schuit took part in the Division II games of the U18 World Championships in 2012 and 2013 , when he was voted the best player of his team with the best plus / minus balance and as top scorer, as well as the U20 World Championships 2014 , when he was the second best scorer of the tournament behind the Lithuanian Daniel Bogdziul , together with the Hungarians Vilmos Galló and Aron Konczei , and in 2015 , when he was the best preparer of the tournament together with the British Lewis Hook .

The winger made his debut in the men's national team at the Division I tournament in 2017 , when the Dutch were relegated to Division II. He played there in 2018 and immediately rose back to Division I with the Dutch.
