The Rayner Glacier is a dominant glacier in the East Antarctic Enderbyland . It flows from the Nye Mountains in a northerly direction to the coast, which it reaches immediately west of the Condon Hills .
It was discovered by Douglas Walter Leckie (* 1920), flight squadron leader of the Royal Australian Air Force , during an overflight in October 1956 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named the glacier in 1958 after the Australian geophysicist Jack Maxwell Rayner (1906–1982), head of the Bureau of Mineral Resources of the Australian Department of National Development from 1958 to 1969.
