Referendum in Egypt in 1956

The referendum in Egypt in 1956 took place on June 23, 1956. The election of Gamal Abdel Nasser as president and a new Egyptian constitution were voted on. Both were adopted, 99.9% voted for Nasser and 99.8% for the new constitution.
