The Reformed Church in the district of Landquart the community Landquart in Chur Rhine Valley is an Evangelical - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons . It was last renovated in 2007.

history

The church building with the characteristic hipped roof and the tower with strikingly high bell windows in 1925 is related to the strong growth of the Landquart traffic junction in the Igis community at the beginning of the 20th century. The architectural office responsible was Schäfer and Risch from Chur . Otto Kappeler took care of the stucco. The color scheme of the church, which is dominated by light blue and white, was the responsibility of Augusto Giacometti . The church was consecrated on January 24, 1926.

In 1939 the church got its own cemetery.

Interior renovations were carried out in 1957, 1979 and 2007.

Furnishing

In sweeping chancel at the same time to form reformed tradition as a communion table serving font and the underlying upstanding, with pulpit basket and sounding board provided pulpit a central unit.

In 1931, a round glass painting was installed on the organ loft showing the reformer Huldrych Zwingli . The picture was donated by local Martin Klaas. The pneumatically operated organ installed in 1926 had 16 stops and was installed in 1979. It was made by Orgelbau Felsberg .

In 1979 the old organ was removed and a new organ with a mechanical action was installed. This was placed in the middle. This new organ has 20 registers, 10 of them in the main work, 7 in the swell and 4 in the pedal. It was made by the Mathis organ builder in Näfels, Glarus .

Bells

The church originally had 3 bells (des, f, as). The responsible bell foundry was the Rüetschi company in Aarau . The inscriptions read:

  • “God, be gracious to me according to your goodness” (Penance, according to Psalm 51, 3).
  • “Help your people and bless your inheritance” (request, based on Psalm 28: 9).
  • “Praise the Lord in his sanctuary” (praise and thanksgiving, based on Psalm 150: 1).

In 1933 a fourth bell (b) was added, donated by the JP Büsch-Nauser family. The biblical words are stamped on it:

  • “Come, everything is ready” (according to Luke 14, 17).

Church organization

The Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden leads the entire parish of Landquart (with Igis and Mastrils ) as one of the largest in the canton within the Colloquium V Herrschaft-Fünf Dörfer .

The parish has two parish offices and a social diaconate .
