The Reformed Church in Strada in the Lower Engadine is a Protestant - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons . It is located in the center of the village on the main road.

History and equipment

The church is one of a total of six churches in the area of the former political municipality Tschlin , which merged with Ramosch in 2013 to form the municipality of Valsot . It was built after the end of the turmoil in Graubünden in the second half of the 17th century, when the Chaflur settlement was completely destroyed by Habsburg troops under Commander-in-Chief Alois Baldiron and was no longer rebuilt in its original size. Instead, Strada was built as a newly founded hamlet directly on the Inn.

The church is a uniform baroque building . The tower has a round dome with a top over Wimpergen , while the nave is covered by a hipped roof. The interior of the church is dominated by a raised, ornamental and polygonal pulpit without a sound cover . In the center of the choir there is a baptismal table on which the Last Supper is celebrated according to the Reformed Graubünden custom , and behind it the organ .

Church organization

Strada formed a parish with Tschlin, where the parsonage is located, and Martina and, together with Ramosch, a pastoral community . The merged parish of Valsot has existed since January 1, 2014 . Martina belongs to the Colloquium VIII Engiadina Bassa - Val Müstair within the Evangelical Reformed Church of Graubünden .
