The Reformed Church on Maria ( Romanian Biserica Reformată din Elisabetin ) is a Hungarian Reformed church on Bulevardul 16 Decembrie 1989 , it is located between Piața Sfânta Maria and Strada Timotei Cipariu in the III. District Elisabetin of the western Romanian city Timișoara ( German  Timişoara ).

To the northeast of the building is the chapel built in 1906 by László Székely with the statue of St. Mary , in the place of which the leader of the Hungarian peasant uprising György Dózsa is said to have been executed in 1514 .

The sermons of the pastor of the church, László Tőkés , in which he practically criticized the conditions in Romania, were the spark of the Romanian Revolution in December 1989 , which ultimately spread to the entire country. A plaque on the gable of the building commemorates these events with inscriptions in four languages.
