The Refuge de Vénasque is a mountain hut the section Toulouse of the Club Alpin Français in the Pyrenees , perched on the edge of Boum inférieur at 2239 m is level at the foot of the Pic de Sauvegarde and below the Port de Vénasque , in Haute-Garonne in the Occitanie region in France .

history

The hut was built in 1961. It is a starting point for the climbs of the Pic de Sauvegarde , the Pic de la Mine , the Bec de Corbeau as well as the Pic de la Maladeta , the Monts Maudits and the Aneto . From the hut, hikes and ski tours are possible over the HRP , the Port de Vénasque , the tour on the top of the mine, the Pics de Sauvegarde and Montagnette.

Access

The hut offers 20 places. It is open from June 15th to September 15th and there are 12 places available in winter. It belongs to the Toulouse section of the Club Alpin Français.

It can be reached from Luchon and Hospice de France via a winding path after crossing a glacier sluice. The Boums du Port are three lakes that merge one after the other. From Spain via Benasque and the Esera Valley .
