The Regalmspitze (also Regalpspitze ) is 2253  m above sea level. A. high, lesser known mountain in the Kaiser Mountains in the northern Limestone Alps . When speaking of the Regalmwand (also Regalpwand), the western offshore, is 2,227  m high peaks of the side Regalmspitze meant. Northeast of the Regalmspitze is another side summit, 2,226  meters high, towering some 80 meters from the ridge Regalmturm .

location

The Regalmspitze and its secondary peak rise in the eastern part of the Kaisergebirge, often also referred to as the Ostkaiser . They are located a little east of the Kleiner Törl and west of the higher and better-known Ackerlspitze . The Regalmspitze forms the southern corner point in the main ridge of the Ostkaiser. On the west side the ridge connects from the summit over the Regalmwand to the Törlwand , on the northeast side the ridge continues over the Regalmturm to the western Hochgrubachspitze . Viewed from the south, for example from Going , the Ostkaiser forms a famous mountain backdrop, and the Regalmspitze can also be seen. The mountain belongs to the municipality of Kirchdorf in Tirol .

Routes

Approaches

Due to the challenging ascent, the Regalmspitze is one of the unknown and rarely climbed peaks of the Wilder Kaiser. The normal route may only be used by experienced mountaineers with surefootedness, a head for heights and climbing agility. The approach is mostly from the south, i.e. from the Gaudeamushütte or from the Ackerlhütte via the marked Gildensteig past the Wildererkanzel in many serpentines to the memorial plaque south under the Kleiner Törl, time required around 2¾ hours from the Wochenbrunneralm. It is also possible to approach it from the north, i.e. from the Griesner Alm in the Kaiserbachtal via the Fritz-Pflaum-Hütte and the Kleiner Törl to the memorial plaque, time required about 1½ hours.

Normal way

At the memorial plaque mentioned, the marked but unsecured normal route branches off onto the shelf wall. Via Schrofen to a rock channel, up through it, then on over the Schrofen terrain and short rock steps ( I. level of difficulty according to UIAA ) to the notch between the Regalmwand and the Regalmspitze. There must be the 5 m high, vertical Wandl be overcome (II). Over it it goes without problems over light rocks to the summit of the Regalmwand (without summit cross, but with a book). Time required around 45 minutes.

The way to the higher Regalmspitze is done by climbing down through a narrow chimney, on the south side around a brittle place and down through a handy channel. Beyond the lowest point between the Regalm wall and peak (notch) through a brittle channel up to the highest point of the Regalmspitze (continuous II).

Alternative routes

Further climbs are possible from the Griesener Kar (I, risk of falling rocks, not worthwhile) and from the east from the Regalmscharte (III, good rock).

Shelf tower

The shelf tower can only be reached by good mountaineers with climbing skills and a good sense of direction and is rarely climbed. The normal route (IV-) leads from the Regalmscharte to the summit, where you first traverse the Griesener Kar and then climb steeply over scree and Schrofen to the Regalmscharte. Alternatively, branch off from the normal route to the western Hochgrubachspitze below the fair weather window to the left and reach the saddle via very brittle gullies and crags. The ascent to the summit begins approx. 20 m east below the saddle and leads in approx. 3 pitches first over the east wall, then over the south side to the highest point.
