Regina Schörg

Regina Schörg (born January 12, 1969 in Vienna ) is an Austrian opera singer ( soprano ) and vocal teacher.

Schörg studied from 1989 to 1992 at the Vienna Conservatory with Margret Zimmermann (later she also took lessons with Renate Holm , Patricia Wise, KS Olivera Miljakovic , Antonio Carangelo and most recently with KS Artur Korn ). She then went to the Landestheater Linz , where she appeared in operettas by Dostal and Strauss and as Marie in the Bartered Bride .

From 1997 to 1999 she was engaged at the Vienna Volksoper , from there she moved to the Vienna State Opera , where she performed as Eudoxie in Halévys La juive with Soile Isokoski and Neil Shicoff (CD and TV recording).

Her most important roles include Mozart's roles for the (dramatic coloratura) soprano , including Elettra in Idomeneo , Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail , Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro , Pamina in Die Zauberflöte , Donna Elvira (under Riccardo Muti ) Donna Anna in Don Giovanni , Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte , Vitellia in La clemenza di Tito (including in the Komische Oper Berlin and the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona ) as well as Violetta in Verdi's La traviata and the title role in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor .

She repeatedly appeared in rarities in the operatic repertoire, for example as Kunigunde in Louis Spohr's Faust 1999, in Verdi's Luisa Miller in the title role and in Jacques Offenbach's first complete performance and recording of The Rheinnixen as Armgard (Montpellier 2002). She also worked successfully with directors such as Harry Kupfer , Günter Krämer and Calixto Bieito .

In 1999 Schörg was the artist of the opening ceremony of the Vienna Opera Ball . Concert performances took place in Austria, among others in Paris, Munich, Tokyo, Berlin and Helsingborg. She also had particular success with opera guest performances in Australia .

In 2014 Regina Schörg appeared in " The Marriage of Figaro " at the Opera Festival in Jennersdorf / Burgenland . She sang the role of Marcellina under the direction of Robert Herzl .
