Regina Schulz (born September 26, 1948 in Kahla ) is a German politician . She is a member of the Die Linke party . From 1994 to 2009 she was a member of the Saxon state parliament .

Life

Schulz ended her school career with vocational training with a high school diploma (to become a bricklayer). She studied vocational education for construction at the TU Dresden and graduated in 1971 as a graduate engineer pedagogue (Dipl.-Ing.-Päd.). She then worked as a specialist teacher for construction until 1984 and from 1990 to 1991. From 1984 to 1990 Schulz was a political employee of the SED district leadership.

After reunification, she was unemployed from 1991 to 1992 and did further training during this time. She then worked as a technical employee in 1992/93 and as a lecturer for construction professions in training and further education in 1993/94.

Schulz is married and has one child.

From 1967 to 1989 Schulz was a member of the SED and continued her political work in the party that was renamed PDS in 1990 . For several years she was deputy or chairwoman of the PDS district association Kamenz. From 1990 to 1995 she was a member of the council of the district Kamenz , since 2004 she has been county councilor .

In the state elections in Saxony in 1994 , Schulz was elected to parliament via the PDS state list . There she held the office of Deputy President of the State Parliament. Within the state parliament she was a member of the Petitions Committee and a deputy member of the School and Sport and Economy, Work and Transport committees . In the state elections in 2009 she did not run again as a candidate and consequently resigned from the state parliament in September 2009.

In the local elections on June 8, 2008, Regina Schulz stood as a candidate for the district of Bautzen, which was to be newly formed as a result of the Saxon district reform . She achieved 17.0% of the vote and was second behind Michael Harig ( CDU , 51.6%) and ahead of Henry Nitzsche ( Alliance AFV , 13.2%)
