Reglindis (also Regelindis or Regelinda ; * around 989 , † after March 21, 1016 ) was a daughter of the Polish king Bolesław I. Chrobry and the Sorbian princess Emnilda . She was Margravine of Meissen by marriage .

Life

Reglindis was married to Margrave Hermann in 1002 , the son of Ekkehard von Meißen . Shortly after the violent death of Ekkehard and after the investiture Bolesław with the Lusatias marriage strengthened the relations between the Piast and Ekkehardinern that despite the wars of Henry II. Against Poland effectively stayed and 1018, shortly after the Peace of Bautzen , by the last marriage Bolesławs and Hermann's sister Oda were reaffirmed.

Representation in Naumburg Cathedral

A statue that is supposed to represent her person is in the west choir of Naumburg Cathedral together with eleven other donor figures. The unknown " Naumburg Master " created it in the 13th century together with the sculpture of her husband and the related couple Uta and Ekkehard as the main donor of the church.
