The Reher Kratt is a nature reserve near the village of Reher, east of Schenefeld in Schleswig-Holstein . It was declared a nature reserve on January 31, 1938. Support is provided by the Steinburg district as the lower nature conservation authority. The Reher Kratt is located within an FFH area of the same name.

The area is about 30 m above sea level on a weakly pronounced ridge. It is characterized by light, sandy soils (iron-humus-podsol to parabrown earths), which consist of meltwater deposits from the last ice age. The heavily washed out soils are poor in lime and nutrients and tend to form local stone. English oak and sessile oak are the dominant species of the forest community typical of this location.

One of the last remaining oak coppice forest areas in Schleswig-Holstein is located here. This form of the forest was created by cutting down the oaks down to the cane and used to be typical of the sandy, barren geest peaks in this region.

In this retreat for rare insects and reptiles , you can find rare plant species such as bear moss , Bergwohlverleih and grass lilies in the dense vegetation cover . There is also a larger population of slender junipers .
