history

The place Reichenstein belonged to the County of Wied and not to the Reichenstein rule , because the territory of the rule only comprised "2 ½ feet in front of the curtain wall". Independently of this, the Lords of Reichenstein had manorial rights in the village of Reichenstein.

The Reichensteinerberg mine, in which Spateisenstein was mined, was located near Reichenstein .

On June 7, 1969, Reichenstein was incorporated together with three other communities into the local community of Puderbach.
