Reincarnatus is a Dutch medieval rock band from Valkenburg in Limburg .
history
The band was founded in 2005 by Renate Dirix and Joyce Hamers. Marna van der Velden, Linda Custers, Isabelle Dosne, Inge Stallinga-Gorissen, Hellen Hurkens and Eleën Bartholomeus later joined the band. Just a year after the band was founded, the band toured the Netherlands, and this tour was a success. In the same year the band brought out a Miti CD that was self-financed. Two years later the band released their debut album called Media Vita . Just a few weeks after its release, this landed on the 62nd place of the Dutch LP charts, where the album lasted for two weeks. In Germany , the band became known by participating in the Anderswelt tour of the Munich medieval rock band Schandmaul , which led through Austria , Switzerland , Germany and the Netherlands. In February 2009, the band signed a contract with the German label FAME Recordings, which also includes Schandmaul, The Seer , Anna Katharina Kränzlein and Weto . In addition, the band took part in the Wacken Open Air in Wacken for the first time in 2009 .
style
The band combines medieval and modern pop music . The band uses instruments such as shawm , fiddle , bouzouki , hurdy-gurdy , drums , electric guitars , bass and synthesizers . The texts are often sung with several voices and written either in Latin or in several medieval languages. Sometimes the texts are also written in English , German and Dutch .
