Reinhard Dietrich (born February 14, 1932 in Breslau ; † March 7, 2015 in Dresden ) was a German sculptor .

Biographical

Reinhard Dietrich completed an apprenticeship in wood carving in Wittenberg from 1946 to 1950 . He then studied at the Technical School for Wood Art in Empfertshausen / Rhön and for three years at the Technical School for Applied Arts in Leipzig . From 1953 to 1958 Reinhard Dietrich studied at the Dresden University of Fine Arts . Here he was a student of Hans Steger and Walter Arnold .

He worked in a studio community with Wieland Förster and then worked as a freelance sculptor in Dresden until 1964 . From 1964 to 2003 he lived in Kneese Aufbau near Rostock . During this time he created many works that can be found mainly in Rostock, but also in other places. Part of his work was created in collaboration with Jo Jastram . Dietrich lived and worked in Dresden- Pillnitz since 2003 .

Dietrich received a number of important awards, such as the Rostock District Art Prize in 1971 and 1977, the Rostock City Art Prize in 1975, the GDR Art Prize in 1979, the Rauma Biennale Prize in Finland in 1985 and the GDR III National Prize in 1988 . Class in the collective.
