Reinhard Klessinger
Reinhard Klessinger (* 1947 in St. Blasien ) is a German sculptor and draftsman . His focus is on object art .
Life
Reinhard Klessinger attended the Basel School of Applied Arts in 1965 , where he was a pupil of the painter René Acht and studied sculpture with Johannes Burla and René Küng . From 1966 to 1968 he studied with Rupprecht Geiger at the State Art Academy in Düsseldorf and from 1968 to 1970 with Barry Flanagan and Anthony Caro at St. Martin`s School of Art (Sculpture Department), London. In 1970 he became a master student of Rupprecht Geiger at the State Art Academy in Düsseldorf. In 1972 and 1973 he studied philosophy at the University of Düsseldorf .
From 1992 to 1993 Klessinger attended the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. The works of art created there, mainly reflective objects made of various materials such as glass, tracing paper and zinc sheet, he exhibited the following year at the Institut français de Stuttgart .
In September 2010 Klessinger received a scholarship from the Künstlerhaus Lukas in Ahrenshoop . Here he dealt artistically with the subject of books, which had already played an important role in his earlier work in the form of installations, artist books and book objects.
Klessinger is a member of the Deutscher Künstlerbund and the Künstlerbund Baden-Württemberg. He lives and works in Ihringen near Freiburg im Breisgau.
