Barry Flanagan

Barry Flanagan (born January 11, 1941 in Prestatyn , Wales , † August 31, 2009 in Santa Eulària des Riu , Spain ) was a Welsh sculptor .

Life

He studied at Birmingham College of Art and Crafts (1957-1958), followed by studies at St. Martin's School of Art in London in 1964. From 1967 to 1971 he lectured at St. Martin's School of Art and the Central School of Arts and Crafts .

He took part in Documenta 5 in Kassel in 1972 in the Individual Mythologies : Video department and was also represented as an artist at Documenta 7 in 1982. In 1982 he represented Great Britain at the Biennale di Venezia .

He died of ALS at the age of 68 .
