Reinhard Pekrun

Reinhard Pekrun (* 1952 in Braunschweig ) is a German psychologist . He is Vice President of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich (LMU).

Life

Pekrun studied psychology, education and philosophy at the TU Braunschweig and the University of Tübingen . After completing his studies, he worked as a research assistant at the Ruhr University in Bochum and at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, where he received his doctorate in 1982 and qualified as a professor in 1986 . After substituting professorships at the universities of Heidelberg and Frankfurt / Main , Pekrun held a Fiebiger professorship from 1991 to 1994 and a C4 professorship for psychology at the University of Regensburg from 1994 to 2001 . There he also served as dean of the faculty for psychology and education and was founding director of the center for university didactics and teaching-learning research . Since 2001 he has held the chair for educational psychology, diagnostics and evaluation at the LMU.

In 1996 the Stress and Anxiety Research Society elected him President. Pekrun is co-editor of the journal "Anxiety, Stress and Coping" ( ISSN  1061-5806 ) and a member of the Psychology Review Board of the German Research Foundation and the German consortia of PISA 2003 and 2006; in addition, Pekrun is an advisor to the international PISA consortium. He is Deputy Director of the Psychology Department and a member of the LMU Senate.

In 2015, Pekrun received the John G. Diefenbaker Prize - combined with a one-year research stay at the University of Manitoba .
