John G. Diefenbaker Prize

The John G. Diefenbaker Award (John G. Diefenbaker Award) is a Canadian - German science award .

The research prize is awarded annually to an outstanding German humanities scholar and is linked to an invitation to do research in Canada, which can also include short periods in the USA. The award is also linked to the invitation to participate in research, teaching and scientific life at the host university and in Canada and to visit other research institutions . The prize money is 95,000 Canadian dollars (as of 2015).

The award is named after the Canadian Prime Minister John Diefenbaker . Nominations are made by Canadian academics to the Canada Council for the Arts .
