Reinhard Sager (born February 19, 1959 in Suxdorf ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1992 to 2001 he was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein Landtag and has been the district administrator of the Ostholstein district since 2001 . He is also the chairman of the Schleswig-Holstein regional council and president of the German regional council .

Life

After obtaining the technical college entrance qualification , Sager completed an apprenticeship as an office clerk and worked as a construction wage clerk. Subsequently, Sager began an apprenticeship as a civil servant at the Schleswig-Holstein State Insurance Institute and the Altenholz Administrative College , which he completed with a degree in administrative management .

Reinhard Sager joined the Junge Union and the CDU in 1978 . From 1986 to 1990 he was chairman of the Ostholstein district association and from 1986 to 1994 member of the Schleswig-Holstein state board of the Junge Union. From 1989 he was also deputy chairman, from 1995 to 2001 chairman of the CDU district association in Ostholstein.

He took on his first political mandates between 1982 and 1988 as a community representative in Grömitz and between 1990 and 1995 as a member of the district council in Ostholstein. In 1992 he was elected to the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament via the CDU state list. In 1996 he won a direct mandate in the Eutin-Süd constituency with 40.9 percent of the vote . In 2000 he moved into the state parliament again via the state list. He was a member of the state parliament until July 2001. From 1992 to 1996 he was a member of the Economic Committee and from 1996 to 2001 a member of the Finance Committee. For the CDU parliamentary group, Sager was the spokesman for tourism, energy and financial policy. From 1996 he was a member of the parliamentary committee.

Since May 2001 Sager has been elected district administrator for the Ostholstein district . In November 2006 he was confirmed in office a second time by direct election. In 2015 he was re-elected for a third term by the district council.

For the state elections in 2017 , Sager was appointed by the top candidate of the CDU Schleswig-Holstein , Daniel Günther , in its competence team for the finance department .

Sager has also been chairman of the Schleswig-Holstein District Assembly since 2008 and President of the German District Assembly since 2014 . He is also the alternate chairman of the German- Danish Fehmarnbelt Committee .

Reinhard Sager is Protestant, married and has one son.
