Reinhard Steege

Reinhard Steege (born July 18, 1943 in Schötmar ) is a German lawyer and was a judge at the Federal Social Court from 1992 to 2008 .

Life

Steege studied law in Münster , Lausanne and Freiburg . He graduated from Freiburg University in 1971. This was followed by his legal clerkship , which he finished in Stuttgart in 1975 with the second state examination in law. He then began his legal career in the social justice system in Baden-Württemberg . He became a judge at the social courts of Konstanz , Heilbronn and Stuttgart before becoming a judge at the regional social court of Baden-Württemberg in 1980 . January 1992 he became a federal judge. As a judge in the 3rd Senate of the Federal Social Court, he initially had to deal with cases from health and long-term care insurance law. In 1993, in addition to his judicial work, he became a member of the court's documentation commission. From July 1994 to September 1996 he was a member of the 6th Senate and was thus responsible for contract and statutory health insurance law . Reinhard Steege then became deputy chairman of the 1st Senate, which is responsible for health insurance . On October 1st, 2003 he became the chairman of the 2nd Senate ( accident insurance ). Reinhard Steege has been retired since August 2008.
