Reinhart Bezzenberger

Reinhart Bezzenberger (born July 26, 1888 in Cranz , Samland , † September 4, 1963 in Karlsruhe ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Life

Bezzenberger was the son of the linguist and prehistory researcher Adalbert Bezzenberger . He began to study law at the Albertus University in Königsberg and became an active member of the Germania Königsberg fraternity . As a one-year volunteer , he served with the Litthau Uhlan Regiment No. 12 in Insterburg . He moved to the Schlesische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Breslau , which made him Dr. iur. PhD. After taking part in the First World War until 1918 and becoming an assessor , he joined the East Prussian provincial administration . She took over him in 1921 as member of the regional council and elected him to the first regional councilor in 1929. He was the deputy chairman of the East Prussian State Insurance Company and managing director of the Königsberg University Association and the Association for the Preservation of Marienburg . For the Albertus University he made many friends in West Germany , especially in industry. In the representation of Helmuth von Wedelstädt he was de facto governor of East Prussia from 1941 to 1943 . In the Second World War he was a soldier again and was taken prisoner by the Soviets in the Battle of Königsberg . Dismissed after many years, he came to Karlsruhe as a judge and head of the Upper Insurance Office.
