Relly Tarlo

Relly Tarlo (* 1949 in Israel ) is an Israeli- Dutch sound artist , performance artist and sculptor who lives in Amsterdam .

Career

Relly Tarlo studied interior design at the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague , was a participant in Ateliers 63 in Haarlem and studied at the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht . Since the early 1970s, he has been developing an artistic work for which sound, sculpture and architecture are combined. Tarlo founded Tarlo Bedaux Productions in 1980 together with his partner Jacoba Bedaux (1942–2002) and the series "Tracks" was created. It is a series of sound performances in the form of installations in which acoustic sound waves are continuously generated by rolling marbles , table tennis balls and other objects through pipes of different lengths and diameters made of different materials ( PVC , glass, cardboard) . In several works, the sound is acoustically amplified and harmonized with a contact microphone .
