Remy Hii (born July 24, 1986 in Malaysia or Queensland , Australia ) is a Chinese- Australian actor and musician.

Early years

Remy Hii was born to a British and a Malaysian of Chinese descent and grew up in the Queensland Territory of Australia. From 2005 he attended the Queensland University of Technology there . He then studied acting for three years at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Kensington , which he graduated in 2011. While at NIDA, he was part of the indie rock group RAPIDS , which also included future actors Angus McLaren and Jamie Timony . In 2010 they released an EP under the band name .

As of 2007, Hii ​​took part in performances by the Queensland Theater Company . From 2009 he took on his first acting roles in Australian productions in front of the camera, first in the short film Beyond Blood and then in the series East of Everything and H2O - Suddenly Mermaid . Short films and appearances in theater productions followed.

Career

In 2013 he took on the lead role of drug smuggler Van Tuong Nguyen in the miniseries Better Man . His portrayal received praise from the critics and earned him, among other things, a Logie Award in the Best Newcomer category . He was also nominated for an AACTA Award for Best Actor in a TV Series. Also in 2013 he took on the role of Hudson Walsh in the soap opera Neighbors , which he held until 2011. He was then cast in the Netflix series Marco Polo in the role of Prince Jingim , with whom he was part of the main cast until the series was closed in 2016.

After a few more series appearances, Hii ​​was cast in the role of Alistair Cheng in the movie Crazy Rich in 2018 . Also in 2018 he took on a leading role as Simon Van Reyk in the Australian series Harrow . In 2019, he took on the role of Brad Davis in the Marvel film Spider-Man: Far From Home .
