René Belletto (born September 11, 1945 in Lyon , Département Rhône ) is a French author who became known for his fantastic novels.

Life

Belletto graduated from the Lycée du Parc in Lyon. From 1976 to 1982 he was a film critic for the Lyon weekly magazine Lyon Poche , which no longer exists today, under the name François Labret. His first book with short stories Le Temps mort from 1974 has already won an award and was reissued in 2006. A trilogy followed, which takes place in his hometown. These books were also published in German. His next work dealt, among other things, with the topics of swapped identities and parallel worlds , thus mixing detective and fantastic novels.

Two of Belletto's books were made into films.
