René Féret

René Féret (born May 26, 1945 in La Bassée , Nord , Nord-Pas-de-Calais , France , † April 28, 2015 ) was a French actor and film director .

Life

For his debut Paul's story , Féret received the Jean Vigo Prize in 1975 , and for the family festival ( La Communion solennelle ) in 1977 he was nominated for Best Film in Cannes . His film Champagne of Love was awarded Best Film at the 1989 Namur International Festival of French-Speaking Film.

In his work L'Homme qui n'était pas là , he played the main role of the blackmailed actor Charles Elaine, alongside accomplished stars such as Claude Jade , Georges Descrières and Jacques Dufilho as well as his then wife Valérie Stroh . He had other roles in, among others, Jeanne Moreau's directorial debut In the Spotlight , in Joyce Buñuel's La Tricheuse and as French ambassador alongside Sandrine Bonnaire , Sergei Bodrow , Oleg Menshikov and Catherine Deneuve in Régis Wargnier's film drama Est-Ouest - A Love in Russia (1999).

His son Julien is u. a. active as a film producer.
