René Kindzeka (born June 5, 1995 in Kumba ) is a German basketball player of Cameroon origin. He is under contract with the first division club Hamburg Towers . Kindzeka measures 1.85 meters and can be used in both assembly positions.

career

Kindzeka first grew up in Cameroon and then from the age of eight in the Hamburg district of Wilhelmsburg . In his youth he only played for SSV Slomanstieg. In 2009 he won the German U14 championship with BG Harburg-Hittfeld and played for the club in the youth basketball league (JBBL) in the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons .

From 2011/12 he wore the jersey of Piraten Hamburg in the youth basketball league (NBBL), for which he played until the end of the 2013/14 season.

Kindzeka gained his first playing minutes and experience in men's basketball in the 2011/12 season for BC Hamburg in the 2nd regional league. For the 2013/14 season he transferred to SC Rist Wedel in the 2. Bundesliga Pro B .

He was signed by Hamburg Towers for the club's premier season in the 2nd Bundesliga Pro A ( 2014/15 ), but was mainly used for cooperation partner SC Rist Wedel during the season thanks to a double license. In the following 2015/16 season , the constellation remained the same, but Kindzeka missed the first few months of the season as a result of a wrist injury. He returned to the field in January 2016, but was forced to watch again a short time later with a knee injury.

In July 2016, the Towers announced that they had also given Kindzeka a squad place in the 2016/17 season . Due to his age, the game year was his last, in which he was also entitled to play for Wedel with a double license. With Hamburg, Kindzeka scored an average of 5.2 points in 22 games in the 2016/17 season, with Wedel he was the team's best thrower with 13.4 points per match (14 players). In the 2018/19 game year , he made it to the basketball Bundesliga with the Towers as champion of the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . Kindzeka contributed to this success during the championship season with 4.5 points per game (33 appearances).
