René Lewejohann (born February 13, 1984 in Herne ) is a German soccer player .
Career
Lewejohann played in youth for Westfalia Herne and VfL Bochum , with whom he reached the semi-finals of the German A youth championship in the 2002/03 season. For the 2003/04 season he moved to LR Ahlen , where he played his first game in the 2nd Bundesliga on September 21, 2003 . During the game against 1. FSV Mainz 05 he was substituted on. Since he only made seven appearances at LR Ahlen in two years, he left the club in summer 2005 and joined the second team of FC Schalke 04 . There he became a regular player, played 51 league games for the Knappen and scored 13 goals. During this time, however, he also suffered two metatarsal fractures within half a year. After two years "at Schalke" he left the team and was under contract with SV Wilhelmshaven and the second team from Alemannia Aachen in the 2007/08 season , but was rarely used due to injuries caused by a pelvic tilt . For the 2008/09 season he returned to his hometown club Westfalia Herne, which he left again during the winter break to play for the Bonner SC . With the Bonner SC, he made it to the Regionalliga West . Since he was rarely used there, however, he moved to SV Meppen in January 2010 . There he played for half a year and returned to Westfalia Herne in the summer. Lewejohann signed a two-year contract with the NRW league club Sportfreunde Siegen in May 2011 , with whom he made the leap into the Regionalliga West in the 2011/12 season . In June 2013 he left the Sportfreunde and joined the Siegen district club 1. FC Kaan-Marienborn in the Westphalia League. After only a few missions, Lewejohann was out until the end of the season due to an injury to the peroneal tendon. In January 2015 he moved to league competitor DSC Wanne-Eickel for the second half of the season . In August 2015 Lewejohann went to BV Herne-Süd in the district league.
Lewejohann completed two international matches for the German U-20 national team . Among other things, he came to a use on December 10, 2003 against Italy's selection.
In January 2016 he went to Australia for a few months to gain his first coaching experience. He looked after the juniors at FC Sydney and was commissioned by the Australian Football Academy to convey German training philosophy. In March 2017 he became the assistant coach of Denis Tahirović at the national league club FSV Duisburg. At the start of the 2017/18 season he took over the post of head coach of the retired Tahirović. Lewejohann resigned from FSV Duisburg on January 16, 2018 . A month later, SpVgg Erkenschwick signed him as a new coach, before he moved to the upper division Hammer SpVg in November 2018 . On January 28, 2020, he was released from his duties as a trainer.
