Renatus Lwamosa Butibubage (born April 3, 1918 in Mwanza , Tanzania , † October 2, 1998 ) was Bishop of Mwanza .

Life

Renatus Lwamosa Butibubage received the sacrament of ordination on August 22, 1948 after studying Catholic theology and philosophy .

On December 19, 1959, Pope John XXIII appointed him . the titular bishop of Casius and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Mwanza. Pope John XXIII donated him the episcopal ordination on May 8, 1960 in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop Emeritus of Saint Lawrence Gulf , Napoléon-Alexandre Labrie CIM , and the Auxiliary Bishop in New York , Fulton John Sheen .

On December 18, 1965, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Bishop of Mwanza. On November 18, 1987, Pope John Paul II accepted Renatus Lwamosa Butibubage's resignation for health reasons.

Renatus Lwamosa Butibubage attended the first and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
