History and description

The twelve-axis rent office building is a baroque building that resembles a castle . A central section separated by two pilaster strips and accentuated by a triangular gable is the axis of symmetry . The long two-storey building has a mansard roof . Only the alliance coat of arms of the builders Carl Philipp von Venningen (1728–1797) and Maria Anna von Hutten zu Stolzenberg († 1781) is attached to the triangular gable as facade decoration . The two entrances with outside stairs are located to the side, also symmetrically arranged .

The Baden revolutionary Friedrich Hecker was born in 1811 in the building that served as the official building of the Eichtersheim office from 1807 to 1813 . His father Josef Hecker was the rent agent of the Lords of Venningen .

Today the artist Jürgen Goertz lives in the Heckerhaus.
