Reta Friebel

Reta Friebel , née Kurz, later married name Kahlau (born December 16, 1918 in Berlin-Wedding ; † autumn 2014 ), was a German politician ( SPD ).

Reta Kurz was the daughter of a typesetter . She was a member of the “ Kinderfreunde ” and the Socialist Workers' Youth (SAJ). From 1935 to 1938 she did a commercial apprenticeship and then worked as an office clerk .

After the Second World War , Reta Friebel joined the SPD in 1945 and worked for the Berlin city councilor Robert Rohde (1900–1958). In the first Berlin election in 1946 , she was elected to the district assembly in the Reinickendorf district. In the 1950 election , Friebel was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives. Until 1978 she was head of the district council office in Reinickendorf.

From 1948 to 1950 Friebel was the chairwoman of the Workers' Welfare Association (AWO) in the Reinickendorf district.
