Reto Burrell (born March 8, 1973 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss musician , songwriter and music producer .
Career
Reto Burrell spent his childhood in Emmen , Canton Lucerne , until his parents emigrated with him to Australia in 1977 . A few years later, back in Switzerland, he grew up in Stansstad, Nidwalden and recognized his untamed fascination with making music and songwriting at the age of 12. When he first started playing in a band, Reto Burrell was a guitarist in various rock bands, including a founding member of the hardcore punk band Profax. From the beginning to the middle of the 90s Reto Burrell was singer and guitarist with the alternative rock band Släm.
In 1997 Reto Burrell decided to continue as a solo artist and made music his main profession in 1999 thanks to the many concert appearances. In 2001 he signed with the German label Blue Rose Records and was represented there with three albums until 2004. Further albums and band projects followed on his own label Echopark Music Records. From 2011 to 2013 Reto Burrell was part of the band project CH (Country Helvetia) alongside Kisha and Rickenbacher. They released two albums on EMI Records and in 2011 they won the Prix Walo Award in the category 'Best Swiss Country Act'. In 2014 Reto Burrell signed again with Blue Rose Records. In 2017 he signed with Tourbo Music and released an album there in 2017 and 2018. Some of his albums made it into the top ten of the European Americana charts. Over the years Reto gave numerous concerts in Switzerland and toured Germany, Austria, France, Holland, Italy, Spain and the USA.
Under the abbreviation ReBu , Reto Burrell produced various Swiss artists and bands such as Ishantu, Noan, Basement Saints, Coal, Trummer (musicians) , Mothers Pride, Vivian , Bougainville, Déjà-Vu and many more
Reto Burrell also wrote songs for and with Anna Känzig , Adrian Stern , Ueli Schmezer , Trauffer , etc. a.
In 2012 he was involved in founding the national association of musicians in Switzerland , of which he was president in the first year.
