The Rheider Au (Danish: Rejde Å ) is a tributary of the Treene . It has its origin on the Schleswig-Holstein Geest near Schleswig .

In the Viking Age , the route Eider- Treene-Rheider Au- Schlei served as a shipping route, transport or trade route between places on the North Sea and the Baltic Sea . Well-known trading centers at the time were Haithabu , Hollingstedt and Dorestad .
