Rheingau Literature Prize
The Rheingau Literature Prize has been awarded since 1994 as part of the Rheingau Literature Festival , which follows on from the Rheingau Music Festival . This literary prize is awarded annually to authors whose "literary prose has drawn the attention of literary criticism in the past twelve months."
The prize money amounts to 11,111 euros, of which 5,000 each are taken over by the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art and the Rheingau Music Festival, with the main sponsor contributing the rest. Associated with the award is the donation of 111 bottles of Rheingau Rieslings , which the Association of German Prädikats- und Qualitätweingüter e. V. Rheingau donates.
