Ri Chol-myong (born February 18, 1988 in Pyongyang ) is a North Korean football player .

Career

Ri appears internationally as a player in the Pyongyang sports group . At the U-17 World Cup in Peru in 2005 , where he came to three missions, he was listed as a player in the not well-known Muyŏk team. Previously, he finished second with the U-17 selection at the 2004 U-17 Asian Cup .

In 2006 he won the U-19 Asian Cup in 2006 with the U-20 selection . The midfielder scored his only tournament goal in the final against Japan and was one of the five successful North Korean shooters on penalties. At the U-20 World Cup held in Canada in 2007 , the Ri was again part of the regular staff and was used in all three games in the preliminary round. With the North Korean Olympic selection (U-23), he failed in the final qualifying round for the 2008 Olympic Games.

In October 2007 he played for the North Korean national team in the first two games of the World Cup qualifying against Mongolia, but saw the red card in the second leg and probably missed participation in the AFC Challenge Cup 2008 as a result . In the 2nd round of the 2010 East Asian Championship , he was part of the squad as a supplementary player and was used. At the beginning of 2010 he took part in the AFC Challenge Cup with a B selection and was used over the full distance in all five games when he won the tournament. In the final against Turkmenistan, Ri was the only North Korean penalty taker to fail.

At the World Cup finals in South Africa , Ri was part of the North Korean squad , but was not used in the preliminary round.
