Ricardinho , real name Ricardo Cavalcante Mendes (born September 4, 1989 in Santo André , São Paulo ) is a Brazilian soccer player . He prefers to play in midfield as a winger or attacking midfielder .
Career
Ricardinho played until the end of 2007 in the youth of the Brazilian second division club EC Santo André . At the same time as the promotion of the first team to the Série A in early 2008 , Ricardinho managed to jump into this. In the 2008 and 2009 seasons Ricardinho was used in the Série A. At the end of June 2009, he got the opportunity to do a trial training with the German second division club 1. FC Union Berlin , as his transfer rights were with the then sponsor of Union International Sport Promotion . However, Union did not make a commitment. In January 2010 he was loaned to Mogi Mirim EC for four months and was then firmly committed by the latter.
In February 2011 Ricardinho denied a one-week trial training with the Polish second division club GKS Bogdanka Łęczna . At the end of the month he was then signed on a free transfer by Bogdanka Łęczna, where he signed a contract until the end of the 2010/11 season. In the second half of the season he became an important part of the team and scored five goals in sixteen games.
After the end of the 2010/11 season Ricardinho Bogdanka left Łęczna and moved to league rivals Wisła Płock , where he signed a one-year contract. There, too, he became a regular player straight away and scored five goals in nineteen games in the first half of the season. At the end of January he was invited to a trial training session by the Swiss first division club FC Zurich and was also used in a test match. However, he was not committed. Ricardinho flourished again in the second half of the 2011/12 season, scoring seven goals in fourteen games. Nevertheless, he could not prevent the descent of Wisła Płock.
During the summer break of 2012 Ricardinho traveled to the training camp with the Polish first division club Lechia Gdańsk and was able to recommend himself for a commitment. He signed a three-year contract until the end of June 2015.
For the 2013/14 season he was signed by the Moldovan first division club Sheriff Tiraspol . In January 2016, he moved to al-Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates for half a year before returning to Tiraspol for another season. In the summer of 2017, the Serbian club Red Star Belgrade announced the commitment of the midfielder.
