Ricardo Bonelli (born October 28, 1932 in Lanús , † July 25, 2009 in Mexico ), also known by the nickname Mono , was an Argentine football player on the position of a striker .

Life

Bonelli began his professional career in 1952 at CA Independiente . Between 1954 and 1956 he also came to eight international appearances for the Albiceleste , in which he scored one goal. In 1955 he was a member of the national team that won the Copa America .

After the rise of the Mexican club CD Tampico in the first division for the 1959/60 season , Bonelli moved to the Jaibas Bravas , where he formed a first-class storm series together with his compatriots Antonio Pérsico and Roberto Rolando .

In the 1960/61 season he won the Mexican Cup competition with the CD Tampico and in the 1962/63 season , at the end of which the Jaibas Bravas were relegated back to the second division , he let his active career end.

Bonelli stayed in Mexico for the rest of his life, becoming a Mexican citizen in 1986 and passing away from stomach cancer at the age of 76 .
