Ricardo Lingan Baccay

Ricardo Lingan Baccay (born April 3, 1961 in Tuguegarao City , Philippines ) is a Filipino clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Tuguegarao .

Life

Ricardo Lingan Baccay studied philosophy and theology at the University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Manila . He later obtained a Master of Arts in Aparri and received his PhD in Education Management from the University of Manila City . He received on 10 April 1987 by the Archbishop of Tuguegarao , Diosdado Talamayan , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

After his ordination he was personal secretary of the archbishop until 1993 and then pastor in two parishes of the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao. In 2005 he became head of the Archdiocese's boys' seminary .

On February 23, 2007 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to titular bishop of Gabala and auxiliary bishop in Tuguegarao. The Apostolic Nuncio in the Philippines, Archbishop Fernando Filoni , donated him episcopal ordination on April 10 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the retired Archbishop of Tuguegarao, Diosdado Aenlle Talamayan, and the Archbishop of Tuguegarao, Sergio Lasam Utleg .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Alaminos on February 20, 2016 . The inauguration took place on May 4th of the same year.

On October 18, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Tuguegarao. The inauguration took place on January 14 of the following year.
