Sergio Lasam Utleg
Sergio Lasam Utleg (born September 21, 1943 in Solana , Philippines ) is a Filipino clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Tuguegarao .
Life
Sergio Lasam Utleg received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao on March 30, 1968 .
On February 10, 1997 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To Coadjutor Bishop of Ilagan . The Apostolic Nuncio in the Philippines, Archbishop Gian Vincenzo Moreni , donated him episcopal ordination on March 17 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Ilagan, Miguel Gatan Purugganan , and the Archbishop of Tuguegarao, Diosdado Aenlle Talamayan . On July 26, 1999, Sergio Lasam Utleg became Bishop of Ilagan, succeeding Miguel Gatan Purugganan, who resigned due to illness. Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Laoag on November 13, 2006 . On June 15, 2011, he was appointed Archbishop of Tuguegarao.
Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on October 18, 2019.
