Richard Coyle

Richard Coyle (born February 27, 1972 in Sheffield , South Yorkshire , England ) is a British actor . He has been in the cinema and television industry since 1998.

Life

Richard Coyle was born in Sheffield in 1972. While studying politics at York University , he began his acting career by playing several small roles. He got his first major roles in 1998 in the television films Macbeth and The Life and Crimes of William Palmer . He played his way through several roles until he appeared in the internationally known sitcom Coupling - Who with whom? made a name for himself in the role of Jeff Murdock . He got the title role in the fantasy drama Strange . In 2006 he played the role of Amis in A Good Year . In May 2010 Coyle was seen in the movie Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time as Crown Prince Tus and also played the leading role in the film adaptation of the novel Ab die Post by Terry Pratchett as Moist from Lipwig . In 2011 he took on the role of William Winthrop in the British drama WE and in 2012 appeared in seven episodes of the US crime series Covert Affairs as Simon Fischer in front of the camera.

In 2003 he left the coupling team. In the fourth season of the series, he no longer played. He refused to return to a "goodbye episode". In August 2004, he married his girlfriend Georgia Mackenzie, whom he met on the set of the film Up Rising . In 2005 he said in an interview on the subject of coupling:

I'm very proud to have been part of Coupling and very grateful for the chance to play Jeff but I was very keen that that character didn't stick with me forever. I'm an actor and I want to be an actor when I'm 60. It's a lifelong process; why cut it off by boxing yourself into a little pigeonhole early on?

“I am very proud to have been part of Coupling and very grateful for the chance to play Jeff, but it was important to me that this role does not stick to me forever. I'm an actor and I still want to be an actor at 60. This is a lifelong development; why should you end this by putting yourself in a drawer at an early stage? "
